Preparing for Thanksgiving!

By Chelsey Zumpano

Well since tomorrow’s Thanksgiving we’re getting everything ready for the next day! Tonight me and my mom made two batches of keto biscuits. They tasted really yummy because you know I just had to have a taste test. Tomorrow I’m going to make mashed potatoes and we have chocolate pie to have. All the usual things we are having turkey, ham, and stuffing,.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving and I’ll see you in tomorrow’s post!

I need to become a minimalist!

By Chelsey Zumpano

I discover that I need to become a minimalist! Especially when it comes to my clothes! I was going through my closet the other day and trying to re-organize everything And my mom and I were talking because I pretty much don’t wear half my clothes! She said I should become a minimalist and I agree I’m the type of person when I find an outfit I really like I’ll wear over and over again. (I do this a lot especially with my shoes).

So I narrowed it down to things I kept for sentimental reasons, my favorite outfits, and things I could keep until I could buy a similar item. It didn’t take that long to organize and put everything back in its place. I can find things much easier now!

Let’s talk about procrastinating!

By chelsey Zumpano

Everyone procrastinates! I used to procrastinate on doing homework or doing school projects. Now sometimes I procrastinate on writing for this blog or editing YouTube videos. I love doing what I do!Sometimes I procrastinate because I can’t think what I’m going to write about, so I’m waiting for inspiration.

Sometimes I procrastinate because I don’t really want to write about that subject because I’m worried about what people are going to think about it. Sometimes I procrastinate because I have other things I need to do that day.

Here are some things I try to do to make myself do the project sooner!

• give myself some incentive, such as after I do this project I can read another chapter of my book.

• get up early, so I can take Hazel on a walk and that way she’ll nap while I get stuff done.

• cleaning my room, so I can focus better.

• listen to my writing playlist.

Makes stores more accessible! #blind

By Chelsey Zumpano

I was talking to my mom earlier today and she had an interesting thought: Bathroom should be in the same spot in every store, (like boys on the left and girls on the right). I absolutely agree with this and to make things even Simpler stores like target and Walmart should be the same in each store! Like for instants if the toys are on aisle six in Walmart that’s where should they should be in every Walmart! If the milk is on aisle four in target it should be in all

the targets! It would make shopping by myself so much easier!

I might make a video on this topic if anyone is interested please let me know that in the comments? I’m sorry this is such a short post, but I will try to make a longer one tomorrow.

A rant about dictation!

by Chelsey Zumpano

The mistakes with punctuation and lack of punctuation and words not making sense are intentional. I want to preface this post by saying I’m just extremelyfrustrated because my orbit reader 20 is still not working right! So this is a rant! Don’t get me wrong dictation is really good because it’s good to be to be independent when you don’t have a keyboard or braille device to type on!

• doesn’t get all my words

• sometimes replaces words with cuss words

• sometimes replaces words with make fucking sense

I’m fucking aware that it is super ironic that I’m writing this with dictation! Dictation is really good like I said, but I personally just don’t like it because I’d rather type out my words and say it aloud! When I’m typing long sentences or paragraphs I’m able to put the punctuation, but when I’m using dictation it doesn’t do it for me and I have to say it. The really weird thing is that when I’m using dictation with voiceover or just reading it back with voiceover I mean it has numbers sometimes randomly at the end of the word, but the words aren’t actually there on the screen I mean the numbers aren’t actually there on the screen. I just feel like my words come across better when I’m physically typing them out on a Braille keyboard.

Dictation is a great accessibility tool, but all tools have their flaws.. They can all be frustrating at times. Let me know your favorite accessibility tools or devices in the comments below!

I’m having problems with my orbit reader 20!

By chelsey Zumpano

This is the fourth or fifth post this week that I am writing with dictation on my phone! It’s very frustrating because I’ve been having problems with my braille note, excuse me I mean orbit reader 20. I keep forgetting that braille note is a brand.

• it hasn’t been charging

• it deleted my entire journal

• it’s been disconnecting from my phone

So my to do list on tomorrow is to call the company and see if they can help me figure out what’s going on with it! Having my orbit reader has given me a lot of independence! I hate using dictation! With the orbit reader I am able to write this blog post! I love knowing how to spell things, being able to physically write stuff down makes me feel more accomplished, reading all my words on the screen helps me figure out how to correct my mistakes better. It’s a lot easier to navigate my iPhone. I like being able to physically read things a pop up on my screen, just when I’m reading a fellow bloggers post, or reading kindle books! I love being able to write and read with out having to look at my screen or strain my eyes!

I’m hoping tomorrow I can figure out what’s wrong with it! Wish me luck!

I’m A Haley Williamz Look-Alike!

by Chelsey Zumpano

I dyed my hair again! It’s no surprise to those of you who know me in real life or who have watched me from the very beginning because my first Vlog was me dying my hair! I love dying my hair because it’s really cool to see how it turns out and how each color makes me feel. I first dyed my hair when I was around seven or eight in honor of my first grade teacher who passed away from cancer. (My hair is purple by the way). Since then I’ve dyed my hair, pink, red, brown, and green.

My most recent hair color is red and orange, (I even have bangs)! I look like fire hair! I’ve always wanted to dye my hair like this because of the singer of paramore, (Hayley Williams). Specifically her hair in the music video for decode, (which is on the twilight soundtrack). I remember thinking that her hair looks super cool and the fact that she was singing a song on my favorite movie made it even awesomer! (Paramore was the first band I saw in concert).

Image description: Haley on the left and Chelsey on the right, and they both have bright red and orange hair with bangs!

(The first is a picture from Google and the second is a picture my mom took).

It’s a great feeling to have the hair I have always wanted! It makes me feel confident. I keep playing with my hair all day I just love it so much!

(Also I’m sorry if this post sounds weird again because I had to use dictation instead of my orbit reader 20. I’m having some problems with it)!

World Premature Day!

by Chelsey Zumpano

Today is world premature day! As you know me and my twin brother were born at 25 weeks. I had multiple procedures and my vision impairment is a result of me being a micro premie. We both grew up with parents who are amazing! I did all the things my brother did!

• rode dirt bikes

• skateboard

• go on family bike rides

• get a car

• graduate high school

I was never treated any different! I do all the things that make me happy!

Since High school I’ve…

• became a YouTuber

• blogger

• wrote a children’s book (it’ll hopefully be published soon).

• Trained a dog

• on my way to be come a dog trainer

So no matter how you started life and the challenges you face; you can get through it!
