Review of Computer Glasses!

I recently got some new glasses to protect my eye from the harsh light of my Ipad and over the past week I’ve been wearing them.

The glasses have a yellow tent that dols the harsh light from my eye. I’ve been getting less headaches with them on. They don’t change the color of pictures or anything like that, but it does make everything a little yellow and a little less bright when I first put the glasses on. My eye feels a little less straind.

I still do a day with out looking at my screen, but sometimes that turns into more because My new puppy keeps me busy. I even just use them when I’m only watching videos.

Over all they work great for me and I wear them all the time, (even when I’m not on my Ipad). I do think more people need to wear glasses like these because how much everyone spends looking at a screen. What I’m Reading Right Now!

I started reading ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ last night. First off I had no idea this was a book and the only reason I new it was a musical is because I’m obsessed with ‘Waving Through A Window’. (which is the only song I’ve heard from the musical). Now that I’ve read a little of the book and listened to the song again, (which I have on repeat as I’m writing this), It’s even more sad! So far the book is good.

The next book I’m reading is ‘The Sword of Summer’ and it’s slow going because I’m trying to do a play by play of my favorite moments over on Tumblr. This is my second time reading this series, the first time I’m reading it in braille. It’s really helped me to improve my braille reading skills. The great thing about rereading is that I get to fall in love with all the characters again!

My Most Used Apps

(I’m sorry there are no links. For some reason it wasn’t letting me use them).

1 Audible because I am a major book worm and I can listen to audio books on my Alexa, Iphone, and Ipad.

2 Facebook is where I post most things for this Blog and YouTube because it’s the most accessible.

3 YouTube because not only do I upload videos, but I also watch a lot of videos.

4 The WordPress app is what this blog is hosted through.

5 Imovie is the most accessible app to edit videos.

6 BARD is an awesome book reading service through the Library of Congress and specifically for people who are blind or have learning disabilities. This is where I’m rereading ‘Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard’ by Rick Riordan in braille.

Books Bring Joy!

Everyone knows I’m a major bookworm, but did you know that November is Family literacy Month! In addition to reading us stories my mom told us stories like ‘Hansel and Gretel,’ but with us as the characters. I was so into stories that I use to talk to myself about what I did that day to help myself fall asleep.

Some books that stick out to me from when we were little are this one about to little cats who were expecting a little sibling and my mom read this to me and my twin brother before my sister was born. There were more like ‘If You Give A Mouse A Cookie,’ ‘If You Give A Pig A Pancake,’ ‘The Old Woman Who swallowed A Fly,’ ‘the Little Woman Who Lived In A Shoe,’ ‘Ramona Quinby,’ ‘Junie B Jones,’ and much more! One of the first ever Audio books I’ve read was ‘Sarah Plain and Tall’ and from there I was hooked on Audible! I grew to fall in love with reading and eventually I read ‘Harry Potter’ in braille. In seventh grade my mom read me ‘Twilight’ and I fell in love with Stephenie Meyer’s world. ‘Twilight’ helped me through my eye surgery I had that year by giving me a chance to get out of my head and into Bella’s for awhile.

After that I read ‘The House of Night series’ ‘percy Jackson and The Olympians,’ leading me to fall in love with the rest of Rick Riordan’s books.

Books have shaped me so much that I’ve written some of my own that you will hopefully see soon. So read to your kids and you’ll never know how it could shape their life.

A Review On The Braille Note APex

I first saw the Braille Note Apex at a tec expo in Dublin Ireland. I was blown away by the power the device gave me in a ten minute session of using it. Keysoft blew my mind. The thumb keys made reading the Braille display so easy and convenient! It was so skinny and lite to hold. The Braille keyboard felt amazing to type with and I was hooked straight away. I began exploring the device and found that there was built in wifi. Three usb ports meant that I could explore hard drives, copy my music from my MP3 player to enjoy right there. I kept feeling the display in amazement. I even turned off the speech and was delighted to be able to navigate the interface of the device in silence. It seriously amazed me as to how a device could be so much faster than a Laptop to boot up and all those features right at my finger tips. Next I went and browsed a few web sites. Again it was amazing. so fluent and fast to navigate web pages. I so want one and will do anything to get my hands on one!
